As many of us believe, total health encompasses the whole package of physical, emotional and spiritual. What is spirituality? Because there is no set definition that is agreed upon I offer this explanation from Wikipedia:

Christy Begien | SpiritualitySpirituality is a process of personal transformation, either in accordance with traditional religious ideals, or, increasingly, oriented on subjective experience and psychological growth independently of any specific religious context.

I believe that spirituality can mean different things to different people since our personal journeys can be and should be individual. It is no my way to sit in judgment as to what practices people engage in, though I hope they are healthy practices that promote growth and kindness.

I’d like to use this page to explore some of the many different areas of spirituality that I have found to be useful and significant in bringing depth and healing to my overall health. I am always open to exploring other modalities of healing energies (this being an exception to the less is more thought process, of course!) and would love to hear what you might be doing to enhance your total health lifestyle.

Music is big for me as part of my spiritual life. It can be soft and meditative or be loud and lively and have me dancing around the house. Here are some of my favorite artists that I love for meditative and relaxing practices:

Diane Arkenstone — The Best of CD
Shinji Ishihara — Aqua Blue
Nawang Khechog — Tibetan Meditation Music for quiet mind and peaceful heart
Krishna Das-Heart as Wide as the World, One, Live on Earth, Heart Full of Soul
Secret Garden — Songs from a Secret Garden
Canyon Trilogy — Native American Flute Music
Reiki — The Light Touch by Merlin’s Magic
Meditations for Peace of Mind-Guided — Imagery Meditations-Bernie S. Siegel, M.D.
