Heal Yourself – Pain Management that Works!

Posted by:

What would you say if you knew that a pain management program had a remarkably high success rate? And what if the program could treat you without drugs or surgery? What if it’s also simple and involves no heavy equipment?  I’d say, “tell me more!”

While training for a summer week-long bike ride a few months ago, I injured my back. I was in major pain a mere month out from our trip. The fact that I have a childhood scoliosis ...

Spring Allergy and Asthma Relief!

Posted by:

Itchy eyes, sneezing, runny noses… It’s springtime, and the allergies are either starting or are in full swing. According to Dr. Mercola (mercola.com), “airborne pollen is the most common cause of seasonal allergies, also known as hay fever or allergic rhinitis. Add to that you may be an asthma sufferer whose symptoms are even worse during allergy season, even life threatening.”

Dr. Mercola also reports that allergy-driven asthma affects 10 million Americans, rates that have doubled since 1980.

Climate changes are being ...

The ABCs of VOCs!

Posted by:

VOC? What does that mean? The Minnesota Department of Health states that Volatile Organic Compounds are “a large group of carbon-based chemicals that easily evaporate at room temperature. While most people can smell high levels of some VOCs, other VOCs have no odor. Odor does NOT indicate the level of risk from inhalation of this group of chemicals.”

I’ll bet most of you have heard of formaldehyde.  It’s a VOC and considered volatile because it emits a gas at room temperature. ...

Posted by:

Okay yoga friends, I continue to get questions on which yoga mats are the least toxic and healthiest to use. I’ve had some great comments from many of you and I have done more research. Criteria were based on possible harmful chemicals used, environmental ...

Rhymes with “Ooh-gah”

Posted by:

I was going to write about salt this week but it’ll just have to wait until next month. Be patient my dear readers! 🙂

I’ve been sitting with this notion of “sanctuary” for many months now. For many of us it means a place of refuge or safety. Other thoughts come to mind too – haven, oasis, shelter and retreat. Is “sanctuary” a physical place (snuggled under a favorite blanket) or can it be an activity or even people? I’m writing ...

Cosmetic Facelifts with Acupuncture, You Say?

Posted by:

“Botox is so passé. Cosmetic acupuncture is where it’s at,” says a woman interviewed three years ago in the Daily Mail. What? Apparently it’s the latest weapon in anti-aging with several A-list stars, including Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth and Angelina. Like them or not, these women look great.  This growing movement is the result of women being afraid of fillers and Botox, according

to facial acupuncturist, Samara Reid, who’s been in the business for 20 years. This non-painful, non-toxic technique takes roughly ...

The Allure of Botox

Posted by:

Botox, dubbed as “the little neurotoxin that could,” by USA Today. It’s a household name now, isn’t it? Have you tried it? Is it safe? Several friends I know use it to calm forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and lines around the face. I have to admit they look dang good! I’ve been offered the opportunity to try it. Most of you know I’m about living naturally and cleanly. I am not a fan of putting foreign substances, especially known toxins, ...
